Is there enough sunshine to make solar energy worthwhile?
Definitely, from the end of March through to October the system should provide as much as 80-100% of your hot water needs.. its as good as that!'
Will we still get hot water in Winter?
Although the returns will be much lower during the winter months the system will still make a considerable contribution toward cutting your fuel bills and reducing your 'carbon footprint.
How long is the payback?
Estimating the 'payback' time on the cost of a solar installation is difficult, because of the number of variables involved. Not least of course are how much hot water you actually use and the size of the system you decide to go for but we estimate that you should start to break even within 7-10 years or less.
So installing solar panels makes sense?
It is now widely accepted that cutting our 'Carbon Footprints' is a matter of great urgency and that burning less fossil fuels benefits the environment… your SolarCraft installation should reduce your households carbon emissions by about ½ a Tonne a year…..but it could also save you an awful lot of money.. since 2003 energy prices have risen by a staggering 90%+ and are continuing to rise rapidly, it seems unlikely that they are going to come down…You, however will notice an immediate and significant reduction in your fuel bills following the installation of your SolorCraft system.
Is the SolaCraft system expensive to run?
It is worth noting that this is a high quality system which has been 'ClearSkies' accredited, it requires very little in the way of inputs, is maintenance free and should continue to work quietly away for at least 20 years or more.
What will the system cost?
This system, fully installed, will cost the inclusive price of £2850. (assuming that no specialist equipment is required for access).If your existing hot water tank is of a suitable size and condition it may not be necessary to replace it, in which case this could save you about £300 on the installation.
Does the installation take long?
Most SolarCraft installations can be completed within 1 or 2 days.
